One of the most trippy, bizarre and just plan fucked up movie of all time is Jacob’s Ladder. If you haven’t seen this Tim Robbins acid trip of film go watch it. It’s movie that totally holds up to this day and is high up on list of favorite films. Still to this day I don’t think I’ve ever felt unnerved by a film like I was after this one. For those of you who haven’t seen it, Jacob’s Ladder is about a Vietnam vet (Robbins) whose suffering from the worse case of PTSD ever! The haunting imagery and dread filled atmosphere really make this flick stick with you. I’m saying it now: If they cast Tatum Channing in this I will official swear of movies!
A couple of days back The Hollywood Reporter put out word that Adrian Lyne’s unnerving masterpiece was getting the old remake treatment. Before you start groaning it get’s worse. Not only is Hollywood gonna shit on this, LD Entertainment also hired Jeff Buhler ( Midnight Meat Train, which I dug!) to work on a draft that Jake Wade Wall wrote. Wall is the writer of Hitcher and When a Stranger Calls remakes…. WHAT THE HELL?!?! Who is that brainiac behind hiring this guy? God I hope someone gets fired over this. Keep checking back here for updates of the remake. Until then enjoy the trailer of the original film below.
