X-Men Film Spinoff: X-Force

Director Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2), and comic book writer Mark Millar, have been teasing a possible X-Force film while out promoting Kick-Ass 2. It’s reported that Wadlow will write the script, and possibly direct, while Lauren Schuler Donner will return to produce, making this her 8th producer credit in an X-Film.

Both Wadlow and Millar have announced that the team will have 5 members, but haven’t stated who will make the cut. Whether it’ll be Rick Remender’s incarnation of the team (Uncanny X-Force, a mutant hit squad led by Wolverine) or the 90’s version (consisting of ex-New Mutants, led by Cable) or even Cable’s new team of fugitive do-gooders, is anyone’s guess. Let’s just hope it’s not Marvel Now’s incarnation of Uncanny X-Force, which sees Psylocke lead a team consisting of Storm, Spiral, Puck, and Cluster (a “nice” female clone of Fantomex).

I’d personally like a break from Wolverine, but I’m also a big fan of Remender’s Uncanny team, so I’m torn. Maybe we can get a mixture of both? Either way, stay tuned for more info.
