“ Here comes the bride, all dressed in…….”
Was it just me, or did Michonne seem more like Rick’s wife in this episode? Calling all the shots, and setting him straight! And how about the scenes of Rick driving, Michonne in the front passenger seat, Carl and the baby in the back, they might as well been driving to Sunday Church with as family-like as they all looked. OK… maybe I am getting ahead of myself here, but let’s be honest, there is “something” starting to brew between Rick and Michonne!
Episode 11 was a good one, a fun one, to watch. As we watch the team on the precipice of starvation and dehydration, and as if an angel has been sent down from the heaven’s, a stranger comes among them to offer safety and shelter. Immediately the defenses and protection for the group, the family, are on full alert with Rick. However, it’s not the same for the rest of the group. Despite almost being the evening meal at Terminus, the group knows they need to roll the dice and see what happens with this stranger, and his place of sanctuary. Without it, they know they can’t go on by themselves. So with some very “wife-like” stern talking from Michonne, Rick realizes he needs to look past his defenses and allow the group a chance at this new place. But, it’s not without a few wonderful Rick moments of still showing his distrust of the stranger and the situation. Just what us Rick fan’s needed to see!
And so the team takes off on the adventure of zombie filled highways to find their way to this new place. So what is this place? Who else lives there, and can it be trusted? We still don’t know as the end of episode eleven leaves us, and the group, sitting just outside of the “city gates”. Of course they would end it that way, why wouldn’t they!?
So we wait, and wait, and wait, for another week to find out where our friends have ended up. With just a few more episodes left before the end of the season ( it puts a lump in my throat just to type that ), who knows where this journey will take us, take them. But we do know this. The team is all together, there is something starting between Rick and Michonne, and the underlying feelings between Carol and Daryl continue to surface. Who knows, maybe we will see a double wedding during the last episode ( which we have found out will be a 90 minute episode ). Ladies and Gentlemen, I now present to you the new Mr. and Mrs. Rick and Michonne Grimes and Daryl and Carol Dixon!!!! Yah, I know, this show would never leave us on a note like that, but we can all hope and wish!
Walk on WALKERS, and I will see you back here next week for another review of THE WALKING DEAD!
