I may not have come out and said it though I know it has been pretty obvious for some time. I’m a huge THOR fan, not the Marvel incarnation, the Canadian metal legend Jon-Mikl Thor. As a fan, I enjoy trying to spread the word about his albums, film projects, etc. I’m no longer just a fan trying to spread the word. For the past year, I’ve been working with Thor in various different capacities. First off, I’m his personal publicist, so if you want to speak with Thor, you go through me. From there, things have expanded a bit, I have hosted CD listening parties, and most recently done some booking as well. The point of this little article here is to promote one of the appearances I booked, as well as a full blown show happening the exact same night just across the border in Canada.
Found Sound is one of the top record stores in the Detroit area and they are extremely excited to host a meet and greet with the legendary rock warrior THOR on November 25th from 1pm-3pm. Not only will he be there to take pictures and sign autographs, he will be performing a short set with his band. And the kicker……..THIS IS A FREE EVENT!! You heard it right, this is your chance to meet a metal legend and hear him perform for free. Thor will have a selection of merchandise on hand to purchase and get signed as well. Found Sound is located at 234 W. Nine Mile Rd. in Ferndale, Mi 48220.
The Windsor Beer Exchange is just a short distance over the Ambassador Bridge in Downtown Windsor and is the #1 spot for exotic foods, craft beers, and live music in the area. Also on November 25th, TBX is hosting a night of pulse pounding rock and roll when THOR returns to Windsor for the first time in a decade. Joining him on stage is his original band The Imps featuring legendary guitarist Frank Soda. Also on the bill are local acts Antioch and The Heatseeking Moisture Missiles. Tickets are just $12 in advance and $15 at the door. The Windsor Beer Exchange is located at 493 University Ave. West in Windsor, Ontario N9A 5P9.
