Just a couple years ago, we saw what could have been the first glimpse of Quicksilver at the end of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. But now it looks like we’ll get a full appearance of Magneto’s son, Pietro Maximoff, in not one, but TWO movies.

Not too long ago, Kevin Fiege (President of Production at Marvel Studios) said that we may be seeing a brother/sister duo in the next Avengers movie. Any fan of the Avengers could tell you that it’s most likely going to be the villains-turned-heroes known as Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. While Scarlet Witch continues working alongside the Avengers throughout a lot of different reiterations of the team, I’ve always felt Quicksilver’s home was with the X-Men comics. Which makes sense that just today, director of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Bryan Singer, released the information that actor Evan Peters (American Horror Story/ Kick-Ass) will be playing Quicksilver in the movie.

Now comes the hard questions most fans will think of. Will it be the same actor portraying him in both movies? Well, the answer to that is a definite no. Kevin Fiege was quick to cover the bases for all worriers out there. “We both have [Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch]. There’s a specific arrangement with those two characters that would allow us to use them with “Avengers,” but not discuss or reference their mutant or Magneto-related lineage. They can use them as mutants and as Magneto’s relatives, but cannot have anything to do with The Avengers”.

So, when it comes down to it, it seems like the truer versions of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will be shown in Days of Future Past, whereas in the Avengers, we’ll get a modified version of the two. Either way, both movies are sure to be impressive, especially since they’re both adding to the cast and expanding their respective universes.
