Everyone’s favorite vigilante/ serial killer is coming back for his eighth and final season at the end of this month. Last season saw LaGuerta drag up information that pointed to Dexter being the Bay Harbor Butcher. Throught the season, we were witness to quite a bit of tension between Deb and LaGuerta when it came to the investigation of Dexter. The season finale ended with Deb having to decide who lives when Dexter abducts LaGuerta and fails to kill her before Deb shows up. Deb’s choice, of course, was to shoot and kill LaGuerta.
Now, what will the final season of Dexter bring us? Showtime has released the official trailer for the upcoming season and I have to say, Deb is a hot mess. Deb’s doing drugs and grief stricken by her decision, even telling Dexter that the wrong person died that night, while Dexter hunts a new killer on the loose who seems to be removing parts of their victim’s brains. Back at the Miami- Metro Homicide Department, a neuro-psychiatrist (played by Charlotte Rampling) is brought in, who specializes in child psychopaths. Needless to say, working alongside someone in that particular field makes Dexter a little uneasy.
Check out the trailer below, and let us know if you have any predictions on the final season!
The eighth season of Dexter is set to kick-off on June 30, 2013.
