Horror conventions are a magical place. What!?! Don’t make that face. Seriously! They are the only places on earth where love for the truly twisted and disturbing movies, TV, comic books and everything is else not just welcomed, but damn near mandatory! Where else can I find an import of the Japanese Cut of Braindead (AKA: Dead Alive) and meet my genre movie heroes, all while being surrounded by 1000’s of like-minded people?? And when it comes to the best horror cons have to offer Horrorhound Weekend is the best of the best. Not only does HorrorHound put out one hell of a magazine (seriously pick up a copy to see what you’re missing), but they also know how to throw one hell of a con. And 2016 is looking to be no different.
2016 has a hell of a line up with genre greats like Elvira herself Cassandra Peterson, John Bernthal (The Walking Dead, Daredevil), Doug Bradley (Pinhead!), director Mick Garris (The Stand), Kane Hodder (Jason!) and so many more. Even if HH Weekend just offered up booths with genre celebs it would be worth the price of the ticket, but let’s not forget that they also have a hell of film festival, live panels (The Strain and X-Files panel got me all sorts of nerd excited!) and even concerts (Alan Howarth, the composer for Halloween III and They Live, is doing a live performance!). It’s so much damn horror greatness I can’t wait! For a complete list of guests and events head on over to the official site Horrorhoundweekend.com.
