Comic Book Review: Suicide Squad Rebirth #1

I wanted to wait to release this review, since the movie is coming-out this weekend, but since it has gotten mediocre reviews and what not, I thought I’d shed some kind of white light on a dud movie. Also note: I haven’t seen the movie, I can’t say what my opinion really is on it. But Will Smith is Deadshot and Killer Croc is a fun Batman villain…hell yeah.

Suicide Squad opens up with the clearly not Obama, POTUS disbanding Task Force X since it is against the American way, but Amanda Waller is a strong lady and gets her way, so she persuades him in recruiting Rick Flag to be the face of the Task Force…for America! Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang the three “classic” villains that everyone is familiar with are at Rick Flags disposal, and at this very moment there is a bomb that can turn Mongolians into super humans! So..what’s next?

Suicide Squad Rebirth is actually fantastic to sit down and read! Rob Williams story about super villains being “heroic” in all the wrong ways is brilliant and refreshing tale! What makes this so much fun is you can really tell the Squad doesn’t really care what they are doing and they don’t care for each other, unlike most super villain story lines where you try to feel sorry for them, you don’t get that vibe from this story at all! I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read about a group of heroic super villains!
