Comic Book Review: DC Universe : Rebirth Superman Action Comics

First off, I would like to offer my sincere apology to DC Comics for releasing this a day early.  I thought it dropped yesterday.

By now, I think it’s safe to say, that we are all familiar with reboots, reboots, reboots and more reboots.  It seems every time our “infamous” comic book publishers get a wild hair up their bums, they

unanimously declare “REBOOT!”.  Reboots are not always the best ideas and DC has felt that sting before.

With the latest “Rebirth”, however, DC Universe has achieved a victorious reboot.  What do you get when you cross DC Universe with Marvel Universe?…Absolutely nothing!.

Rebirth Superman Action Comics is nothing short of amazing to me.  I simply could not stop reading, until I finished every letter, every image.

Dc has assembled “No pun intended” a team of artists and writers, that are, to put simply phenomenal, but when you have names like Dan Jurgens “The creator of Booster Gold”, Patrick Zicher “Birds of Prey #13, Young Justice #32” and certainly not the least Tomeu Morey “Batman and Robin Eternal #6 and The Huntress”, one finds themselves standing in the midst of legends of the trade.

The story was solid and kept my interest, which is sometimes hard as I am pretty ancient.  I don’t even have the words to explain how amazing the artwork truly is.  As a comic book collector and enthusiast, I can honestly say this is a book that I am going to buy.  I don’t say that very often, but when I do, be assured that I am 100% sure of it. I love collecting and this is going on my list for sure.

Although I am not allowed to give spoilers, I am allowed to say this; Superman Action Comics is going back to the original numbering system.  They are not, I repeat, Not beginning this new series with issue #1 or even #0.

Simply amazing story and I cannot wait to continue my journey with DC Universe: Rebirth Superman Action Comics. By the way, this is available today, so……yeah hit the bricks and treat yourself today.

Well done DC and Well done Dan, Patrick and Tomeu.

Until next time,

JB
