Jim Mickle has yet to make a bad film. I have enjoyed all his flicks thus far ( Mulberry St., Stakeland, We Are What We Are all badass movies). Doing a movie based off of a Joe R. Lansdale novel and staring Michael C. Hall with a badass mustache, it’s like I died and landed right in a weird genre heaven where fat guys who write about horror movies dreams come true….. Now I’m just sad….  Anyways judging by the trailer below Mickle is planning  on keeping his trend alive. IFC plans on releasing Cold In July in select theaters and VOD on May 23rd. Take a look below while I wipe up my tears with old Krispy Kreme wrappers…

PLOT: How can a split-second decision change your life?  While investigating noises in his house one balmy Texas night in 1989, Richard Dane (Michael C. Hall) puts a bullet in the brain of low-life burglar Freddy Russell (Wyatt Russell). Although he’s hailed as a small-town hero, Dane soon finds himself fearing for his family’s safety when Freddy’s ex-con father, Ben (Sam Shepard), rolls into town, hell-bent on revenge.
