It seems like every year we hear the rumors that a genre flick making the festival rounds was so scary or intense that a member of the audience “passed out” or burst into flames or exploded from pure fear. Okay, the last two have never been reported, but the passing out rumor makes the rounds every year and more times than not, these turn out to be unwarranted. Now all that said first time Julia Ducournau’s Raw has a festival story attached to it and this time no one passed out. They just vomited up their lunch. The fanboy in me can’t help but get excited by that (the puke-meter is what I use to gauge my excitement for movies). A cannibal flick so graphic it made a person puke! That’s all I need.
