Perhaps Bubba is the American cousin of Wolf Cop? Who knows?
I do know I really dug this trailer.
Based off Mitch Hyman Halloween Costume, which he later turned into an indie comic for Brass Ball Comics and later Creature Entertainment, Bubba is a comedy-horror-sci-fi mash up that busts ghouls, gets the chick and has a good time doing it. My kind of flick!
The film hits October 11th and is being disturbed by MVD.
Official Description From MVD:
Get ready to howl at the moon with laughter as Bubba the Redneck Werewolf (Fred Lass) and a host of riotous hillbillies fight to save their town of Broken Taint from the forces of evil! Pre-Werewolf Bubba (Chris Stephens) is a nightshift dogcatcher and local laughingstock who longs to win back the heart of his high school sweetheart, Bobbie Jo (Malone Thomas). But when the Devil (Bubba comic-creator Mitch Hyman) comes down to Florida, Bubba signs a deal to make himself a bad-***, only to wake up the next morning permanently transformed into the most a monstrous Werewolf. In order to save his town and be the hero he longs to be, Bubba will have to navigate a country crock of malicious bikers, cryptic hobos, gaseous gypsies, and even a zombie hoard – all leading up to a climactic duel with the dark prince himself. Bursting with belly laughs, satire, and gore-galore, Bubba the Redneck Werewolf is a jubilant dark comedy that could be described as the hillbilly stepchild of Young Frankenstein and Shaun of the Dead. Based on the comic book series of the same name, Bubba boasts a deft merging of practical special effects and CG visual flourishes. Bubba himself is brought to life by the ground-breaking makeup design of Michael Davy, resulting in a fun-loving werewolf with an unprecedented range of comedic facial expressions. The film is directed with its tongue firmly in-cheek by Brendan Jackson Rogers (Flashback); and Bubba’s rockin’ soundtrack is provided by rockabilly band The Blast-Offs and composer George Shaw (Tabletop, the Geekie Awards). Never before has a Werewolf this lovable been responsible for so much violence! You’ll want to drink a beer or twenty with Bubba over and over again! Bonus features include: Werewolf & Devil Makeup Process Videos, ‘The Ballad of Bubba’ Behind-the-Scenes Music Video, Blooper Reel, 16 Min Documentary: ‘From Page to Screen: The Making of Bubba the Redneck Werewolf’, Deleted Scenes, Official Trailer
