Dan’s Pick of the Week.

(W) Eric Stephenson (A) Emi Lenox, Dave Taylor (CA) Dave Taylor

Fans of the Nowhere Men may already know that original artist and co-creator Nate Bellegarde stepped away from the series back in 2013 due to personal issues that kept him from dedicating himself to the series. And many of us thought that after Writer Eric Stephenson started a new series “They’re Not Like Us” that we may never see the continuation of Nowhere Men.

However , after an almost 3 year hiatus Nowhere Men is back. Stephenson
is joined by new series artist Dave Taylor to kick off the second arc for this book that created so much buzz.

Inspired as much by the Beatles as it was the Fantastic Four, Nowhere Men introduces us to a supergroup of scientists as they welcome us to the dawn of a new age of enlightenment. Sadly, much like the Beatles, egos got in the way. Each member went their separate way, but were destined to be reunited by dark secrets that MAY VERY WELL CHANGE THE ENTIRE WORLD.

Featuring thirty-two pages of story and no ads for $2.99, the second story arc picks up right where the volume one trade paperback left off and will ship monthly through May 2016.

Katie’s Pick of the Week:

CLEAN ROOM #4 (MR) $3.99
(W) Gail Simone (A) Jon Davis-Hunt, Jenny Frison
Astrid finds herself in the unique position of interrogating someone…scratch that…someTHING truly unexpected in the Clean Room, and she may not leave there alive. Meanwhile, Chloe storms off to find another way to take down Astrid and her corporation, only to find her life spiraling farther down the drain…not to mention, something from the Clean Room may have slithered out to follow her home.
Graphic Novel Spotlight
(W/A/CA) Margreet De Heer
The author of the bestselling Discovery in Comics series tackles a very sensitive subject. Dealing with religion often means walking on eggshells; that is what comic artist Margreet de Heer finds out in this book in which she presents the five major religions and modern spirituality in a colorful, personal yet serious manner. She explores religious history and practices with tact and an open mind, but can’t prevent a few eggs from breaking. Why is religion such a sensitive subject? This book in comics is fun and informative for believers, non-believers and everyone in between.

All Ages Pick of the Week:
(W) Emily Partridge, Pranas T. Naujokaitis (A) Natalie Andrewson (CA) Shelli Paroline, Braden Lamb
The Ice King has always been there, kidnapping princesses, messing with Finn and Jake, and generally being a weirdo. But there’s way more to him than that! He’s a deep, thoughtful person with a heart full of love! Or…maybe he just really wants to marry a princess. Either way, this is one journey the citizens of Ooo aren’t likely to forget!
